I'm into my third week of school and assignments are beginning to pour in. I'll be having a four day week this semester. This means that I'll have Fridays to catch up on my assignments and personal stuff.

I just went for a morning swim and lunch with Desmond. Swimming was really relaxing as it took my mind off all the projects that are coming in. I'll be attending a reflection night this evening stretching till Saturday afternoon. Its always good to take a break from time to time to do a stock check of your life and quieten ourselves to listen to what God plans for us.

I was reflecting on the practicum that had recently passed and images of a couple of kids in the class came into my mind and I said a prayer:

He's Likeable, Lord
----------------------
He's one of my favourites,
though I couldn't say why.
It's not that he's brilliant
because he simply "gets by".

It's not that he's good
or handsome or quiet.
Yet I love when he says:
"Hey, teacher, I'll try it."

Thank you Lord for children who do their best, no matter what their best may be.

DiLloN

Finally ...a day to relax ...

Finally, the first practicum is over ..That means I finally have the entire weekend to myself again. Next week is a holiday week for me. A time for me to recharge and energise before returning to school.

Had a late night out with Frank & Daniel yesterday. Frank and Ming Hao were looking for someone to design a gaming portal for them. Managed to link up Daniel with them. Daniel did a wonderful presentation on the wonders of web technology which I thought was really great. He really suits the title of a creative executive now. We met up @ Cineleisure for the discussion before heading down to a street side stall near Cathay for 'Tao Huay'. It was wonderful. Frank drove today, so had a fun ride in his car for a change.

This morning woke up at about 8am. Followed my parents to Dr Seng as my mum wanted to go for a blood test. Had prata for breakfast after that. My dad wanted to view the Kia Cerato as he received a mailer inviting him for a private viewing. The sports edition was really nice. After that, we went to purchase some soil from a shop @ Kovan as my mum wanted to transplant some of her plants.

There after, we came back and I had a short nap before rushing down for a session with ZJ. I've finally decided to be in the L&M ministry after much reflection and I've also be wonderfully assigned to sharing group 1 with Nic as our SGL.

Rushed of halfway through the session to join my family for mass. After mass we went down to Kelvin's place. Really enjoyed the view there. Could see the planes landing from far as it was at the end of Pungol and there was a huge open space beside where he stayed.

It has really been a relaxing day for me today. Didn't have to think of any lesson plans this week since practicum was over. It was great to note that all the children in class enjoyed the lessons. That made all the effort put into the preps worth it.

That's all for now ...will blog again soon ..

DilLoN

Its amazing how God works through people

It has been 4 weeks since I was attached to Holy Innocents for my practicum. It has been very hectic however wonderful experience for me. Every weekend, I found myself rushing out lesson plans for the following week as I never seem to be in the correct frame of mind to plan lessons on weekdays. Most of my weekdays are spent marking and going through the lessons before actually presenting it to the children.

Nothing beats the joy of conducting a great lesson where both the kids and you enjoy and much learning is done. The sparkle in the kid's eyes when they finally understood a new concept which you taught them makes all the preps worthwhile.

Today was the first observation done by the school's SCM. It was done in my class with the rowdiest kids. However, during the time of observation, all the kids were extremely well behaved. Every child was so cooperative and knew exactly what was expected of them. Even the kid that would go running all around the classroom from time to time set extremely still and raised his hands quietly to answer the questions asked.

Initially, I was worried that the kids would misbehave. Therefore I prayed and committed everything to God. Its amazing to see how God works through the children, my co. teacher and even the SCM. The entire observation went extremely well. I'd like to affirm the goodness in each and every child.

Next week, I would be having another 2 major observations done by the Principal & my supervisor from NIE. I'll continue to work hard and prepare the lessons and give off my best for the benefit of the children, and I'll leave the rest to God's Will.

Weekends up and coming. There's a ZJ session this Saturday. Hope I'd be able to make it. I'd have to finish up with all the lesson plans before the session.

DiLloN

What A Wonderful Day

Today was a wonderful day. A day full of fellowship & fun.

It all started wonderfully when I awoke @ 9am to find the sun shining in as the road outside was glistering wet from the shower the night before. My parents went out to spend sometime with one another. After my morning dose of songs, I went to grab an early lunch as I had a fellowship with my new found friends from YES Camp. The sharings & fellowship we had at the gathering was wonderful. The P & W was even more wonderful.

As it was the feast day of the church, we went for mass which was celebrated with 9 priests. The homily which rounds up the talks we had during the triduum on the Family was wonderful. After mass, I proceed with my family for dinner in church which is a yearly affair during the church feast day with the usual group that formed the table of 10. The dinner was also to celebrate the birthday of Fr JJ. I felt so blessed to have him as our parish priest. Coincidentially, he was the priest that baptised me when I was a baby.

We sung a beautiful song @ the dinner which I felt very appropriate to boast about God's Love all around us in nature & in everyone around us, both friends & family.

What A Wonderful World
----------------------------
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

Chorus:
The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people goin' by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do!"
They're really saying I love you

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn so much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

DiLloN

Reflection of the past 3 days & a little prayer

Accompanied Justin to church in the morning on Wednesday & Thursday. A wonderful new found friend that I made during the Secondary 2 camp.

Went for the Triduum Mass @ IHM Church as tomorrow we'll be celebrating the Feast Day of our church. Thanks to all who helped out for the past 3 days as their hardwork has enhanced the splendor of the Triduum Mass. The homily done by Fr on the different aspects of the Family, the Father, Wife & Children was wonderful and enlightening. The P & W team with the choir and band were excellent. Thanks to the many people helping in the background also. They made the Triduum celebrations possible.

YES Camp for me was a life changing experience. Tonight, I decided to do a little prayer for a change.

Prayer to The Holy Spirit
----------------------------
Holy Spirit, be behind me to support me.
Holy Spirit, be infront of me to guide me.
Holy Spirit, be beside me to hold my hands & walk with me.
Holy Spirit, be above me to give me wisdom.
Holy Spirit, be within me to help me live life fully & give me strong foundation in the Gospel Values.
Amen.

DiLloN

YES Camp Testimony

YES camp was Great as God's Great. He has indeed answered my search for God's Love. Let me share with you my story to be a testimony that God Loves Us All ..and we are indeed immersed in the Love Of God ..as it would be a sin if I did not testify to glorify His Name.

As those who helped out in the Sec 2 camp recently, remember the time where all of us were running all over the place shouting "Where's the Love ..Show me the Love ?" It did not occur to me that this was my inner desire. Upon reflection only did I realise that, He told me so wonderfully through Daniel that "My Love for you is abundant through our families".

Originally, I did not want to join the camp due to the 'age' constraints as those I've spoken to before the camp would have known. He then sent 5 messengers (you know who you are) inviting me to this YES camp and so I decided to join. Throughout the camp, as I have shared with my group, God revealed his Love through so many people and so many ways I cannot describe. He was so worried that we missed out that night on His Love, he sent messengers through means of the Internet even before YES camp started & SMS the evening before the baptism through a participant of the Sec2 camp as God works through people. All these came apparent to me through the reflections made before & during the camp.

When we do P&W, let me testify that we indeed join all the Choirs of Heavenly Angels praising our God and it is pleasing unto Him. For He is so Majestic and yet so Loving and so Kind. He is indeed the source of all internal life and God's very nature is LOVE. That night during baptism, we were all indeed at the foot of His Throne worshipping Him together with all the angels and saints. God's Majesty is worthy of all our praise. Let every living creature sing praises to The Lord Our God. His Spirit lives in each and everyone of us. I have to testify to this so that everyone may believe that our bodies are truly the Temple of God and we are all called to do His work. And I agree with Kevin when he says "No one can ever outdo God in generousity".

Thank You each and every single one of you from ZJ for the faith renewing experience and Praise God for He has indeed answered your prayer to be wonderful stewards of Our God to "Bring others closer to God, & God closer to others". To make those who seek God realise that God is indeed in no far of place but He is actually all around us.

Once again ..Thank You.

Renewed ..Recharged.. Reenergised ..

Just returned home from YES Camp 2006. The experience was indescribable.

During the baptism of the Holy Spirit, there was an outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Many people was dancing and rejoicing in the presence of God. Before the camp, I was searching for the Love of God. Throughout the camp, he showed everyone present that we were surrounded by His Love. During reconciliation night and in the baptism of the Spirit, there was a tangible presence of that Love rediating all around me. Now I truly believe that every living creature is a reflection of God's image and His Spirit recides in each and everyone of us.

Throughout the camp, I could feel his Love in everyplace and in everything. It is so real. I used to be a person who only had head knowledge, but now I know it through experience. All I can say is that his Love for us is Indescribable.

It was a really successful camp. Give thanks to God for He is Great to have choosen Zion's Joy to be his instruments to bring others closer to God and God closer to others.

DiLloN

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://acerider.blogspot.com/2006/06/renewed-recharged-reenergised.html' title='Renewed ..Recharged.. Though I went to Genting only last year, it has been about 10 years since I've been there with my parents. On the journey there, I was fortunate to witness the beauty that was present all around us. The vast open spaces and the beauty of the clear blue sky that was present throughout the journey was apparent. Such beauty is often overlooked as many cars whizzed by. 3 accidents occurred between vehicles most proberly due to speeding was a result of a down pour that lasted for about 30 minutes.

The 3 days spent @ Genting was a really good time for my family to get together especially when all of us are rather tied down by work on an average day. I could really feel the family bond strengthened after the trip.

I was praying that I would be able to spend more time with my family during the Pentecost Rally as I felt that really lacking for the past couple of months ever since my exam period, and it has been answered. Just the next morning, my dad woke me up and asked if I was free to join them for the trip to Malaysia... It has been all wonderful.

I was sharing with Daniel about the trip and he said "God's Love is abundant through our families" and that "Piety is one of the Gifts of the Spirit". How true... These words struck me as I've really felt God's Love flowing through the interactions that I had with my parents the past few days.

YES Camp is approaching. Angeline & Jerry will be the facils of the group which I'm in. Its great to be a participant for a change. It has been a long time since I've had the opportunity to be a participant of any camp.

DiLloN

It has all been Wonderful

The holidays have been wonderful so far. Reason for that is ...lots of school work, projects, tests and the exam has kept me very occupied over the past 6 months ever since the previous holiday in December.

What has kept me so busy over the past half year ... Well for starters ... There was the Serangoon District Youth Rally which I'm glad to be part of. We spent many months at rehearsals & meetings. All the preparations brought us to D-Day set on 11 March 2006 @ 1800hrs at SJI auditorium. It was fantastic and everyone had a great time basking in the Holy Spirit.

Once the rally was over, there were a whole lot of projects and assignments to catch up with back in school. With the grace of God, I managed to juggle the endless amounts of assignments and tests together with church work.

Due to the pressure @ school, it wasn't till a Wednesday night during Holy Week when Wilfred and Daniel called me out to do QT @ SFX that I felt at peace again.

Easter came and there was much celebration. There after, with the exams and all the project due dates round the corner, I had to become a hermit.

Once the exams were over, I took a couple of days to enjoy with approx of 5 movies over a week & lots of coffee session with friends which I've missed out over the past few months.
Just managed to complete the long overdue video of the Rally Prep which I hope would serve as a good reminder of what has been of SDYR '06.

Hopefully, with the holidays in ...I would be able to update this journal more frequently. :p

DiLloN

Assignments Done ...Light @ The End Of The Tunnel

I've not been blogging for a really long time due to the load of assignments in school. Went down to Ikea yesterday. Saw rather nice bedroom sets there. Considering to change the set which i have this december. After we came back, I was down to my assignments for ICT. Managed to get the template design up.

Went down for the Youth Rally spiritual meeting at SFX church in the evening. The songs sung there were wonderful. Had a really enjoyable time there. When I returned, had an online discussion with my psychology group mates. Managed to get the questionarie up. Finally, we saw some light. After that, I went for supper with Daryl and Lionel. Had roti prata. YUM !!

This morning woke up early for church. Went for the monthly Youth Charge gathering. Music there was by ZJ today and it was wonderful. Met Matthew there surprisingly.

Packed lunch back after church. Managed to get the design for the presentation out for the psychology group which was due for discussion on Monday. After that had dinner with my family at the usual haunt (Hougang Mall).

Feel quite accomplished this weekend after managing to do up quite abit of the projects. Hope this coming week would be good ..

Would like to end of with a prayer today:

Loving God, I thank you for the gift of life you gave and continue to give to me and to all of us.
Merciful God, I ask your pardon and forgiveness for my own failure and the failure of all people to respect and foster all forms of life in our universe.

Gracious God, I pray that with your grace, I and all people will reverence, protect, and promote all life and that we will be especially sensitive to the life of the unborn, the abused, neglected, disabled, and the elderly. I pray, too, that all who make decisions about life in any form will do so with wisdom, love, and courage.

Living God, I praise and glorify you as Father, Source of all life, as Son, Savior of our lives, and as Spirit, Sanctifier of our lives.

Amen.

DilLoN

Finally ...Another Weekend ...Exams are coming ....

Had not been updating my blog recently as I've been flooded with lots of projects and assignments. The past week was rather hellish. I had a maths test on friday. It wasn't very easy. Hope it'll be alright. Had many project discussions, almost one after another. There'll be another maths test coming in two weeks. Got my english test results. I did alright.

Had been swimming lots lately. Proberly due to the pressure in school. Swimming at Victor's condo was a good change of environment for me. Made a new friend this week. His name is Gary, Victor's neighbour. He's a rather nice kid. Had a great time swimming and playing 'monkey' with them in the pool. He's rather crazy 'maple story' an online game. Characters in there are rather cute looking ..

I'll have to spend more time in my work given the amount of projects I'll have to complete this coming month and proberly start mugging for science. The exams are barely a month away. Hopefully I'll be able to manage ....

I'll be going now for a mass for the youth rally at SFX church later this evening. Wonder if there're any plans for this afternoon being children's day and my parents are finally free.

That's all for now ...

DiLloN

Weekends ...Hurray !!

Today started rather slowly with me waking up only at 9.30am.

Was too lazy to blog last night. After GESL, went to Jurong Point with Juliana to catch "The Myth" by Jackie Chan. On the whole, it was a rather funny movie which was full of exciting scenes. After the movie, I was supposed to meet Victor at Sim Lim as he wanted some advice on getting a new laptop. Cancelled out on him at the last moment as I was really too tired ...Came back home in time for the usual dinner appointment with my parents. We just had dinner at Kovan as mum wanted to buy a 'thank you' card from a gift shop in the area.

Upon waking up, I went to the petrol station to give my car a wash. Then went down to Chinatown to look for trips to Taiwan for this year end holidays. Can't wait for year end as I would be going to China & Taiwan all within the December Holidays ...It'll be such great fun ...!!

Went to church and had dinner at Ang Mo Kio as dad had to go to the tailors to collect 5 pairs of pants which he had ordered. It was really crowded. Happened to meet David there by chance.

I'm going for tea at Chomp Chomp with Keng Thong now...Guess I'll be back here again tomorrow ...

DilLoN

The weekend is coming ..

Woke up late this morning as I only had science practical to get through today. Today's lesson was on forces. Had problems understanding some portions of the lesson. Must read though the lab sheets again ..Hopefully I'll get a better understanding of it.

After science, rushed down to Parkway Parade to meet Victor for Sushi. Been sometime since I had the opportunity to catch up with him. Had a good 3 hour chat with him. He seems to be doing really well ...

After lunch, he went for a swim. I had to return home to prepare for a church session. Was really full from lunch. Skipped dinner. Haha ..At church, made two new friends. Gregory and Kelvin. Realised that there're quite a number of teacher wannabes at IHM. That's really cool ...

In all, I had a good day ... It was really fun chatting up with all of them. I've not laughed so much for quite sometime already. Time really flew by today. Too bad all good things have to come to an end. I'm really looking forward to meeting up with you fine folks once again ....Oh yah, realised that parking at Jurong Point for 6 hrs ain't that cheap ..Haha ... My parking bill came to $6.30 ...Not at all surprsing though for the number of hours I parked there.

Here're some pictures that I took of the meal I had this evening for all of you folks to enjoy:

The place where we had dinner

The Group of Wacky People !!

YUM !! Had a 8.30am Ed Psy tutorial attend. Then there was a 2 hour break. Went to have an early lunch at Canteen A. Tried the western food. Think the NIE canteen serves better western food.

Proceeded to the library to revise for my English test which was due in an hour. Got myself a little worried. As the weightage on this test was 45%, not doing well was not an option. The test was easier then expected. Hope I'd be able to score... Haha...

Returned home for a quick snooze at about 2pm. By the time I woke up, it was dinner. Met mum at Heartland Mall for dinner. We went to popular where I got myself a file in order to present my ICT project tommorrow. My mum bought the childrens' day present for her students. The cashier took a really long time to process the payment. In the end, she did not even get the calculations right. Had to double check the entire purchase. Hrmph ...

Didn't do much tonight excecpt for printing out the notes for the upcoming lessons.

Tomorrow I'll be having dinner at Jurong Point with my watch mates from OBS. I'll also be catching 'The Longest Yard' before that. Can't wait for my day of fun tomorrow....

DiLloN

Things are falling into place...

Its the start of the new semester. Another new module to take up. What that means is ..more assignments and projects. However, things seem to be falling into place. I've an English test tomorrow which I've studied for. My ICT project is completed a long time ago, just awaiting handing in. Ed Psy project is also on track.

I'm kinda glad that things seem to be falling into place for once. Hope I can keep this up. There're many things to do, but with proper planning, everything would come out all right.

I'll be rewarding myself with a movie this coming Wednesday after turning in my ICT project whilst waiting for the gathering with my watchmates from OBS at Jurong Point in the evening. Can't wait for that ...I'm finally going to watch "The Longest Yard". I've heard enough good reviews about that show ..Time to watch it myself ..Haha ..Hope it doesn't disappoint me.

I'm going to bed now... English test tomorrow. I've an early Ed Psy lesson tomorrow....so there goes my usual morning swim.

DilLoN

Goodbye Break ...Hello New Term...

I woke up later then usual today. It was 9am when I woke up. Waited for my mum to finish her weekly execise session before proceeding to Harbourfront for lunch. Had Yong Tau Hu for lunch. Bought a digital weighing scale, a BP monitor from VGO.

By the time we returned it was 4.30pm. As we were not meeting my aunts tonight, we had dinner at a coffee shop near my place. My parents went down to Chinatown to take pictures of the night scenery there. I met up with Jeremy from IHM.

Stayed home tonight to prepare for my upcoming English test on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll do well. New term starts tomorrow. I've printed all my notes ready for the series of upcoming lectures, tutorials and labs. Its a brand new term, and a brand new start. Didn't feel like doing much today. Went out for lunch with Yong Shun at Tampines Mall and caught "The Brothers Grim". Found it rather lame though. Was a mixture of fairy tales all in one movie. Cost me $8 for it as it was Friday afternoon.

There after I returned home before going out again for dinner at Outback Steak Restaurant with friends from my previous work place, SecureCiRT. They have all found new jobs also. It has been half a year since I've left that company. Time really flies.

Phion gave me a lift to Eunos MRT station as I did not drive out this evening as I was feeling really tired. From there I shared a cab with Chong Siang back to my place as he lived in Hougang also.

Slept at 1am though I was feeling really tired.

I woke up this morning still feeling tired but better. Least I was a little more awake finally. Drove mum to work, sent my car for a wash and came back to blog on my activities in OBS for the past week. After that I had lunch with my family at Macdonalds. Completed my blog in the afternoon and got ready for church. Met my new found friends from ZJ in church just now.

After church, went to my grandparents place after having a 5 course dinner at some coffee shop near my grandparents place. It cost $28 ..rather inexpensive considering the amount of food dad ordered.

Upon returning from my grandparents place, I now have to get ready my stuff for school. I've got an English test to study for, so I'm going to hit the books.

Guess I'll sleep by 12 midnight tonight after getting some English done.

I'm outta here for now...

DilLoN

Night of reflection ...

I've forgotten that mum had a dinner function to attend with the company. Had dinner with dad at a coffee stall before proceeding to my grandparents house.

Tonight, their place was unusually noisy with 3 of my younger cousins running around. Ages 8,10 and 12 respectively. 3 of them can be a handful really. Reminds me of the days teaching in HIPS. Passed the mooncake to my grandparents and set down to amuse myself with my cousins. They're a fun bunch to be with.

Packed a box of matches instead of the lighter as dad said that it'll be safer. Included a camera into the checklist...Hopefully that'll enable me to capture some memorable moments throughout the course. Really hope i won't spoil the camera ..:)

It's been ages since I had the time to sit by my bed thinking of life ....Life has been really wonderful to me. Great parents ...Great friends ...Great cousins ...Great aunts and uncles ... Great job ...Great teachers ...Though I'm an only child, I don't feel at all lonely being surrounded by all these company ...I really treasure every single one of them ...Really ...Even though I do not say it out loud ...All you guys are everything to me ...

God has been very good to me ...All these wonderful people are always around whenever I need someone to chat with or just to have a simple 'teh' session with ....He has also given me a Great Job ...Teaching ....I'm still am amazed that I actually am becoming a teacher ...Of all professions ...Teaching is one which I had seldom thought about ...It just so chanced on me that God in his great wisdom had put in place a good role model of which I can follow ...My dad ...He has been a teacher also for many years ...and by God's grace, I'm to take over his place after he retires ....

I'll take this opportunity given to me not only to prove to myself that I can make a difference in my life ..but also in the lives of the students that are being entrusted to me ...High order ?? Yes, but with God's grace .. Nothing is impossible.

I'll be turning in slightly early tonight ...I'm all hyped up inside ...Can't wait to see what tommorrow would bring ...Won't be blogging for the next couple of days for obvious reasons ..hahah

Catch'ya after my course at Ubin ...Till then ..Sayonara !!

DiLloN

Day Before OBS ....

Woke up at 6.30am ....Didn't really mange to wake up ...went back to sleep. At 8.30 am, I woke up realising that I had a breakfast appointment with Kai Hon. Called him to apologise. Told him that i'll be slightly late, however realised that he was at home still. Haha. ..So we changed the appointment time to 9am. After breakfast, came back to pack my bag for camp tomorrow. Feeling rather excited again. I was short on solid fuel, a lighter and a sports band for my specs.

Went to Compass Point for lunch. There I purchased my solid fuel and sports band from an outdoor shop. Didn't want the hassle to go to beach road though stuff would be much cheaper there. The sales assistant of the first outdoor shop that I went into did not know what solid fuel is. That kinda pissed me off. Fancy opening an outdoor shop and not knowing that. It was like being in charged of a petrol station and not knowing what petrol is ...hahahh

Dad also purchased two rims of badly needed paper for home. Since I went back to school, paper usage at home has gone up. We also bought a thumb drive 256 MB for my mum. It was $52 ...Much cheaper than the first one that I bought for her a couple of years back.

We managed to get mooncakes there as well. Dad bought 2 boxes. One for us, and the other for my grandparents. They had a 15% discount if purchased using the DBS card. GREAT !! Cost us about $50 in all ...Feel so Singaporean ..ahahh

Pictures of the mooncakes I bought. Don't drool ..hahah

Came back and continued packing my stuff ..Darnz ..My bag is huge ...Seems as huge as the previous one that I packed for my 9 days at OBS. Must look into reducing some stuff.

Logged into portal for one last time before going away. Now awaiting for dinner. Guess it'll be at Hougang Mall. Its been our usual haunt for many years. As we meet up with all my aunts, uncles and cousins every Sunday.

Just the thought of going back to Outward Bound makes me feel happy. Managed to retrieve a picture that I've created of my previous experience there...ENJOY !!

OBS here I come ...Its been 5 years since I've been there. Hope this experience would be as enjoyable as my last ...Here's the picture that I took of the activities that I had with EC909. Its a really good break away from school and civilisation.

DiLloN

Saturday finally ....

Its been a long time that I actually had the opportunity to sleep slightly later ...Woke up at 9.30am today. Felt lazy this morning, so I pulled out an old Harry Potter DVD to amuse myself with. Before I knew it, it was time to pick mum up from her workplace.

I headed down to the nearest petrol station and did my now usual $50 topup ...Ever since the fuel prices soared, each topup is anguishing ...Its now 50 bucks for a 3/4 tank of petrol ..... After picking up my mum, we headed down to Macdonalds for lunch. I had a chicken burger and a sundae ...Felt so piggish ...

After lunch, I actually came back to finalise my video assignment due after my holidays. Hopefully I'd be able to score in this assignment as well...heheh

At 6pm, my family and I went for mass. I actually saw Jeremy with another of his friends, but as he was sitting on the upper deck, I was not able to call out to him. Fr Bryan actually remembered my name, after only one introduction at the Youth Rally ...Am surprised. .ahhah !! Mum actually attributed it to him being a young priest.

After church, we went down to Chinatown to catch a glimsp of the lightup. It was rather crowded. There was this street side stall that was selling pictures of historic Singapore. Dad felt that it would be very useful when conducting a social studies lesson, so we bought a book and a few pictures from them. We also came back with two lanterns that mum wanted for her workplace.

We actually wanted to purchase mooncakes for my grandparents, but we were not able to find suitable ones ...so i guess ..that'll have to wait ...Had a quick drink before returning home at a small street side establishment.

I'm actually rather excited as I would be going to OBS again on Monday ..All the memories of my days in poly are flooding back ....Hopefully it'll be as fun as the previous times that I went to Outward Bound.

This picture reminds me of the tranquility found in Outward Bound amist all the activities ...

DiLloN

It was a Good Friday ...

Just came back from Youth Rally briefing....Was an enjoyable experience. It seems like its going to be quite a huge event. Joining in the programme ministry as a video/multimedia person ...Looks like its gonna be fun ....

Today was a rather short day at school. After the usual Maths and English tutorial, attended the GESL meeting, followed by an briefing for OBS due to be conducted this coming Monday. Realised that I was short on shampoo, so I went to purchase one from Cold Storage.

Had dinner with Juliana at Sakae Sushi followed by the Youth Rally briefing at church. Made a couple of new friends like Jeremy and Daniel. Did my usual 'teh' with Jeremy and Juliana at S11 this time ...hahah.

Still have an English test to study for ...Guess I'll do it tomorrow ..Tired already..Shall turn in for today ...

DiLloN

Waiting in Anticipation

This morning, I woke up at 7am. It was later then usual as Science lesson only began at 12:30pm. Sent mum to work. ..Came back to put a log into the ICT forum. After which got ready to go school at 11am. Reached school in a record time of 30mins. There was a traffic police along the PIE.....Hopefully I'm not caught for speeding ...haha ..

Met Daryl at the NIE canteen before class ...Surprised as I was only planning to meet him after lesson today. Ate lemon chicken rice for lunch ..It was really tasty. Daryl wanted to wait for me till my lesson was over. Science lesson today was more interesting then last weeks ....Am getting used to the lecturer with the scottish accent I guess.

After lesson, went down to the canteen in hall 3 to meet up with Daryl. Surprisingly, the canteen was really empty ...Had a drink with Daryl and he passed me the policies that I have bought from him. The western food there looked very tasty, should go there sometime to give it a try ...Only had a drink there as I was going to have a good dinner later with my family.

Today's my parent's wedding anniversary. They have been married for 27 years already.... Wow!! Though there were many ups and downs ...they have made it together for these many years ...They're a very loving couple ...Here's wishing them all the best together ...

Can't wait for tommorrow, the first crew meeting for the Youth Rally in February 06 is finally coming ...Wonder what would it be like ...Guess I would have to wait till tommorrow to know...Its been a long time since I've really been involved in church ...I'm waiting in anticipation ..

DiLloN

Long Day ...Very Very Long ..

Today was a really long day. Woke up later than usual this morning at 7:05am. Washed up quickly in order to leave for school at 7:30am. ERP had kicked in ...so its $1.50 down the drain.

Reached NTU at about 8:15am. No time for my usual morning drink before class. Reached class early. Dr Wong paired us up for the upcoming project ....Urgh ...another assignment ...When will the stream of assignments end ?? After that, met up with my Education Psychology project group mates for lunch before forming the some inquiry questions required for the project ...Emailed Dr Yeo via Mitchelle's laptop the questions for advise... Its so cool having a laptop, can send email from literally anywhere. We did it from the canteen.

After that, Mitchelle and I rushed to the library to loan the "Growing Years" series. We had to go through the package before our GESL meeting on Friday. Darns ...the book was very thick and heavy ..Felt like carrying a ton of bricks ...We spent over 45 mins hunting for the package.

From there, I went for my maths tutorial. Got my results of my quiz back today ...It was PERFECT !! Yuppie ...!! Wonder if I can keep that up ...hahah. The lesson was rather heavy though with a whole lot of proving sums ...By now I was "brain dead" ..

After maths, I went to the library with Ben and Mitchelle to view the videos in the "Growing Years" series in preparation for the meeting on Friday with my GESL mates. I decided to return the book that I borrowed earlier as it was way too heavy ..and it did not contain much information anyway ....

From there, I came home ...Reached home at 6:15pm today ..It was a record ...From 7:30am - 6:15pm ...Who ever said teachers have it easy ...

Went for dinner with my family after that ..and came back at 8pm. Will be going out with Frank for tea later at S11 (my usual haunt for 'teh').

Hopefully tomorrow would be easier going ...:Þ I'll be going for my usual morning swim again tomorrow ...Yuppie !!

Adious for now !!

DiLloN

Quiet Evening ...

Hi there,

Today was a rather slow day for me ...Woke up this morning at 9.30am as Daryl could not make it for the morning swim. Logged into NIE portal to do replies in some of the forums.

At 11am, made my way to Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre to wait for Ben in order to hitch a ride in his vehicle. Fuel prices are just too expensive for me to travel all the way to NTU just for a one hour English lecture ....

Mel called last night asking if I could make it for a discussion for the GESL project at 3.30pm. Guessed he needed help to write the proposal, however, I was not available as I had an appointment at Hougang Point at 4pm.

Reached home at about 2.30pm after the English Lecture ....Alvin's lectures tend to be very fast ....Having problems just keeping up with him ....Wishing he could slow down a little at times ....

Left house at about 3.15 pm to go for a car wash as well as to topup petrol for the car. The queue for the car wash was not too long, however they took like 'forever' ....That resulted in me not being able to meet my appointment at Hougang Point.

Came back in time for dinner with my family ...Went down to Serangoon Gardens ...It was quite a nice meal. Came back after that in time for the 9pm show on Channel 8.

Organised my stuff for tommorrow ...It'll be a really long day tommorrow ...With ICT, Ed Psy and Maths all in one day .....Think that would make me 'brain dead' again ......It aways happens on Wednesday ...Especially after a 2 hour maths tutorial.

Guess I'll be outta here ...Gotta recharge for the long day tommorrow ...

DiLlOn

Its been a long time ....

Hiz,

Its been a long time since I've written an entry to this blog ....Nearly forgotten that I've had a blog here already.

Since the last posting, much has happened. I've left SecureCiRT for a career in the education industry with the Ministry Of Education. I can hardly believe that I've taken up the challenge to be an educator.

I've have since been posted to Holy Innocents' to do contract teaching in March 05. It was a great experience teaching in that school. All of the teachers there were very helpful and friendly. They gave me alot of assistance without which I would not be able to perform.

Students from my class

Since July 05, when the new semester in NTU(NIE) began, I have been hitting the books again. I've made many great friends there. Special mention should be awarded to my new-found friends in my GESL group. This is a group of special people put together to come up with a project in conjunction with service learning. We went to Sentosa on 27-28 August 05 for a chalet cum Bbq and boy ...was the food entising.....yum ...

My GESL Group Mates ...Yeh !!

Salmon BBQ Fillet ....YUM !!

In all, life in NIE is very exciting...with lots of new experiences and lots of wonderful friends ....

That's all for now. ...

DiLloN

Another 5 Dayz Off ...

Feeling really happy tonight ...Doing my last night of night shift. Going to day shift next month.
Next 5 days would be off for me ..Yet to make any plans yet.. Hope to meet up with a few of my friends again ..Eugene being one of them. Haven't had the opportunity to meet up with him since I've got into this new job.

Its rather cold at work place as I work in the server room. Have to find many ways to keep warm. I don't usually feel cold easily as those closer to me should know... But Itz really DARN COLD there ....Guess itz kept that way to ensure that the computers are working at optimum levels and not overheated.

Felt a little sick before coming to work. Don't know is it because I'm not used to working in the night shift. Think I'm getting a bit heaty down inside. But luckily, the next 5 days would be off for me ..So it ain't all that bad ... Wonder what i'll be up to the next 5 days .. Most of my friends would be busy doing their stuff, as it is the weekdays afterall.. Kinda surprised that some of them are actually helping me to count the days to my off days for me ...Touched :0)

Dad went to see the doctor again tonight. He's been having a bad stomach the past few nights. Went out to meet Chin Chai this morning. I've not been able to meet up with him for about a year and a half already, as he was away in australia doing his degree. Its kinda amazing actually, that one year could just fly by like that ...Anyway, realised that he wanted to become an insurance agent with AIA. Its really weird, the paths we decide to take in the end after our education ...Some become dentist, some doctors, some going into network marketing, some becoming teachers, and ....you get the picture...Anyway, decided to ask him to recommend me a couple of insurance schemes that I could take up ..

After that. he had to head back to office, so I decided to go down to city hall as I had an appointment with Anthony in the evening for dinner. As it was only 2.45pm, I decided that I could catch a movie whilst waiting... Found myself watching Twin Effects II ..There were quite a few special effects, but I found that movie's storyline just average. Luckily it was only $6.50 ...

The movie ended at around 5pm, just in time to take a slow walk down to cityhall mrt to meet Anthony for dinner. We decided to go to Marina's food court for dinner. A change from the one at suntec, however it was closed for renovation. We ended up eating at Millenia's food court. We sat and chatted there for quite awhile about the 'birds and bees' ...after which we took a walk around Millenia. As we walked, we found ourselves at Riz Carlton Hotel. The decor inside that hotel was "WOW"..... even the toilets had hand towels ...A rare opportunity to use the toilets of such a posh hotel. ..hehe ...From there, we proceeded for home ...

After reaching home, I felt rather bored ...so I decided to try my luck to get Frank out for supper ....Managed to get him out to a coffee shop beside S11(our usual haunt for supper).

Decided to call it a day finally....Feeling rather tired now ...wonder how tomorrow would be like ..
I'll proberly leave it till tommorrow ...for itz experience ........

DiLloN

Lazy Sunday

Today was a very tiring day for me. Played scrabble online with Jaccob till 4am this morning. Ended up waking up at 10.30am in the morning. Before I knew it, lunch was round the corner. Didn't even have time to eat the bread that I bought from Carrefour yesterday night. It was really mind boggling to play scrabble so early into the morning when your brain juices ain't functioning at optimum levels. Remind me never to do that again ...

Had to rush home after lunch as the painters were coming by to paint the front door of my house. Ended up spending the afternoon watching LOTR III at home. As it was a three hour plus movie, by the time it ended, I had to go with my family to Hougang Mall for dinner with my extended family.

Oh if you did not know, we had been doing this for the last couple of years already ..Dinner at Hougang Mall on Sunday evenings. It is becoming sort of a family tradition. I had a bowl of homemade noodles and I was lucky as the noodles were pipping hot when it was served. At least it managed to keep me warm, as I was sitting right under the airconditioner. Darn cold ...

Came back with a new padlock for our gate, as the old one was starting to give us problems .. Mum also bought a new tshirt and before long we were back at home again ...hopefully tomorrow would be more eventful ...

DiLloN
